Hi

I have an iPaq 3970 running a Navman 3400 and when I got it I was lucky to get 3 birds partially locked after 3 mins. Since backing the sleeve with kitchen foil I now get AT LEAST 5 birds fully locked and as many as 9 on my journey. My TTF is about 35 - 45 seconds so I just wanted to say a big Thank you to THIS THREAD

for that help, BUT how do I now go about obtaining a re rad ariel for my set up. Obviously there is no port on the sleeve so how can it be done. Also has anyone opened up a Navman 3400?
I tried but couldn't work out the clip arrangement and didn't want to damage the plastic. I would like to open the case an put the foil into the sleeve intself backing it with insulating tape or some such.

Cheers

If it's for in-car use then you can buy a re-rad that doesn't plug into an antenna socket (the ones that do are usually external patch antennas).

We reviewed it here.

I haven't opened one myself, but take a look at these pics.
