The inbuilt POI files are all stored in the POI.dat file within the map folder, this single file holds all the TomTom supplied POI's there is little point removing it though as it doesn't count towards the custom POI category limit - Mike |

It would be nice to remove it anyway, the POI's are rubbish and it would save memoryand unclutter the poi files. Will the box work without poi.dat ? _________________ GO 750 LIVE v9.430 - v8.753612 EU map

Yes it will work without it.
BUT... you may like to know that if you leave it in place, there is a way to ADD your own POIs to the built -in ones.
Some instructions "wot I rote" are HERE
(Sorry for the off-site link, but the "sticky" with the POI category codes in (and a link to the instructions on here), seems to have vanished).
