hi
tomtom one v2 europe running w europe mapping 6.52.1185.
app 6.501.
mainly used in london and the south east and costa blanca south in spain between approx alicante airport and murcia airport.
in anybody's informed opinion would i be wasting my money buying a map upgrade or would it be worthwile.
in spain many roundabouts do not exist on my maps and trying to navigate to a friend's place on the massive campasol development in mazarron doesn't exist at all !!
any advice greatly received.
thanks. |

Have a look on Google Maps to see if any of the discrepancies you know about are incorporated into their latest version of the maps (NB Maps, not photos!).
If the Google version is better than you have on your current TomTom map, then there may be a benefit in upgrading. If you can't find any locations where the maps have improved, then why bother?!
However, if you want to make use of some of the newer facilities introduced in v7 of TomTom (e.g. Mapshare), then you will need to upgrade both map and software version. |

Agree with all the above, but would add....
They have JUST (in the last couple of days) released the latest v7.20 maps, but v8 maps are already being used on the new Go930, so hopefully they will be made available for other models before TOO long.
If you can wait just a few weeks the situation may be clearer.
If there are any specific places you would like people with newer maps to check for you, just post details here (PREFERABLY Lat/Long co-ordinates rather than a long description - but I can't remember if you can switch those on in v6 software! - If you can, it is in the Options on the "Browse Map" page) |
