Is there any way to transfer favourites from a TT910 to a TT520?
Have looked at the TT910 through My Computer and can't see any relevant files which might be Favourites.
Any ideas? |

Favourites are stored in the MapSettings.cfg File, in the Map Folder.
IIRC using the File from an x10 model on a x20 will mess up the TTS feature.
If you want to have a play with it, PLEASE do a Backup of the cfg File on the 520. _________________ Richard

A couple of alternatives if copying the MapSettings file DOES mess up the TTS (or the voice recognition too)....
1. On the 910, create a POI category ("MyFavs"?) and copy all the favourites into that (Manage POI/Add POI/from Favourite). Then copy the MyFavs.ov2 file across to the 520 (and the MyFavs.bmp icon too).
Then if you want you could convert them back to Favourites.
2. Open the MapSettings.cfg file in POI EDIT (http://www.poiedit.com/) and resave the favourites as a POI file (ov2 format) in there, then copy it to the 520's map folder |

Oldboy.
When you say "will mess up the TTS feature." what exactly am I looking for?
Apart from a demo run is there any way that I can force an error to be shown?
Andy_P2002. Thanks for your reply. I will consider this if I find an error with Oldboy's solution. |

From somewhere in the past, and I can't find it yet, I believe it's the Speech Recognition that plays up. I don't think it affects the Directions Voice. Not having an x20 to play with, I have only second-hand information.
I'll try to find the Link later. _________________ Richard

That's exactly it.
IF the problem with incompatible MapSettings.cfg files happens, then you lose the 'Navigate to...' by spoken commands feature. |
