I'm about to format my HDD which has 32 bit winvista on and install vista 64bit. Can anyone confirm if tomtom home works ok with 64 bit winvista?
A quick response is appreciated.
Thanks |

It should work in theory, but you might want to have a look at THIS post. |

Why? Vista 64-Bit isn't worth the bother unless you have a real need. Still lost of stuff that doesn't work well and lots of things that don't have 64-bit drivers. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Sorted, thanks for your replies gents, it does work.
@ Darren
As to why, simple, I'm a power PC user and 64 bit handles more than 3gb of RAM, which 32 bit vista doesn't. |

Fair enough, some people want it just because its there with no real need, you are not one of them clearly! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Does the 64 bit version have the same option as the 32 bit to to run apps as if they are running under earlier versions of Windows (XP/2000/98)? |

64-bit version of Windows, including Vista, have the Windows on Windows (WoW) 32-bit emulation. 32-bit Windows had WOW16.
So in theory 32-bit applications should work. The biggest problem is drivers which need to be 64-bit as they run in kernel mode. |

OK.... I'll be the one to ask the stupid question...
Can you run the 16 bit emulator on the 32 bit emulator in 64 bit Vista? |
