To load POIWarner onto the above unit you will need to run the installation programme from Navigating.de called: poiwarnermedion5/setup arm en 2nd.exe
There is a charge for this.
Once installed OK you can then download the speed camera database in *.asc & *.bmp file types from this site to give you a fully functional speed camera warning system.
Happy Christmas & New Year to all,

Did you get the voices working to wessen ?
I've tried here no end, put 4 wave files into the POI folder been out and tried this in the car, all I get is a bar pop up on screen of the 96800 and a blip.
Set the Audio warnings in POI Warner but nothing. I can browse for the audio files but still nothing when I pass a camera.
Funny thing is sometime last year I had the voices working, but nothing since. |

Hi Shadowz
Long time since I looked at this page.
Yes, the voices work fine except when the Medion voice triggers at the same time, then all you get is distortion as they compete with each other.
Don't know what to suggest, have you set the voices up to give warnings at, say, 30 secs and 15 secs before target reached and which particular warning phrase you want? not that this matters, I only ask the question so I know you are setting things up in the right place.
Ask again if you think I can help further.
Regards

Hello there wessen, thanks mate for getting back to me
I can't understand why they are not working anymore, I've had them work once when they were in the old format on this forum near enough when the the unit first came out but since then all that happens when I convert the a binary file to a ascii file I get the cameras fine on the unit but just 1 blip when you approach a camera.
I'm putting the ascii files into this folder Program Files/Poi Warner MN5 edition/pois along with the BMP's and also dropping the audio files into here but all I have is a Bleep, tried the First Warnings etc.
I used to get this Sound...warning gatso ahead... but for some reason not anymore.
Other than doing something wrong above mate I have no idea as to why I can't use voices
Thanks again for getting back to me |

Not sure if this will help with your sound problem as this is an old POI-Warner setup page from my web site.
Have a look HERE - Opens in a new window. |

Just to let you know, I finally got out and tried the unit. I can now use other voices for the warnings say 20 seconds before a fixed camera or mobile. The only problem that seems to happen now is sometimes I get a Blip sound over the voice, or if you are approaching say a junction or roundabout and there is a gatso then when they all talk together it ends up a bit of a mish mash.
Other than that, I think we are somewhere nearer to when I had the unit working properly when I first bought it.
Thanks for the help |
