I need Help.
I have received my new Garmin 760 today and I have 2 issues. It seems to work fine but the voicecommands sound like they came deep out of a Tin Can and they sound like the speaker is broken. I have a Garmin C310 that sounds perfect and the 760 is not very loud and a little distorted when I put the volume to 100%. Just like when your speaker is broken in your car.
Second issue is It does not pair with my Bluetooth Blackberry 8830. But I guess that is due to the fact that the new Bluetooth update screwed something up. I can find alot of postings about that but no solutions.
More important is the speaker.
I have updated everything to the newest firmware.
Is my device broken? I hope this is not how the device usually sounds.
Thanks for your help. |

Maybe I was not clear enough. Sorry about that.
I just would like to know if your Garmin Nuvi 760 sounds fine or if it sounds weak and "Tinny" in General?
Thanks

I bought a 770 a few weeks ago and sound quality IMO is terrible.
was advised on here to select non TTS voices, it does sound less distorted but you lose the street name instructions.....
mine has been returned due to another problem so hoping new one better - but I doubt it as primarily I guess these are designed for use with FM transmitter.
I am disappointed with it compared to the bomb proof quality of my prehistoric 2610 |

The speaker in my Nuvi 750 seems just fine so long as I don't turn it up to 100%. It's plenty loud at 90% but at 100% it starts to rattle a bit. No big deal because 100% is too loud anyway. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 750 w/City Nav 10 N. America & 08 Europe

I have ordered a replacement of my 760 and it will arrive tomorrow.
A weird thing happened yesterday though.
When I tried to show the bad quality to my boss to get a second opinion, the Bluetooth connection all of a sudden started working and I tested that. After that the sound quality of the voice was improved. My boss asked me why I would complain and it did not sound so bad.
And I admit it sounds acceptable now. What could have happened that all of a sudden everything I complained about just works? I even used the Speakerphone on my way home today and it was OK to use.
Just strange and I have the new one coming in tomorrow. Let’s see if that sounds the same now.
Thanks for your replies. |
