Hi. My name us Boguslav. This is my first post here.
Actually I'm from Ukraine and going to have a big Europe trip by car this summer.
Please help me to choose good GPS navigation device for this adventure.
My car is Daewoo Lanos.
I was at TestFreaks and sorted GPS devices by score based on professional and user reviews:
http://www.testfreaks.com/gps-navigation-devices/?sort=score
It gives me TOP5:
1. TomTom One 3rd Edition
2. TomTom Go 720
3. Garmin Nuvi 760
4. TomTom Go 920T
5. TomTom One XL-S
Hovewer I'm even don't know which device would be okay for my car, coz I'm absolutely newbie in such things.
Which one is the best? As I see TomTom is good brand. Right?
What can you suggest me?
I'm opened for any ideas.
Thanks for your help |

they should all work independently of your car.
all will be fine.
My personal vote is garmin because more TomToms I've demoed have show-stopping problems versus only one garmin which was dead.
However, if you get a good device from either company they are both good.
Try to test them out.
Look at screenshots and see which ones you like the map views of better.
I prefer garmin to tomtom in navigation mode and in locational mode (seeing where I am).
BUt I much prefer the cartography (browse map) of Tomtom.
Decide what is important to you.
Probably get the cheapest device unless you need bluetooth. That way you can upgrade more often and not worry about map updates and you'll get new features anyway with patience.
They are all easy to use too. |

Portman is dead on there - I vacation in greece and it's only in the past year or so that good map data has become available for the mainland Athens area - even now many roads are missing within Athens and the local area. the rest of the country is missing. But much better than it was before with just a few major roads showing.
Sadly, I checked out the links and the Ukraine has major roads only on the garmin, and no mention of Ukraine on the TomTom site!!!! Ohnoes :S |
