Hi All
i subscribe to the safety camera data base and i have noticed a large number of warnings for cameras that don't exist!
for instance - as i travel round the M60 i get dizzy from the number of alerts that come up from the Tom Tom, the vast majority of which do not correlate to a camera.
are cameras ever removed from the data base at all?

Not being from that area I cant comment...
But there are a lot of cameras that have been removed from the database all around the M60..
Browsing the map and looking round the M60 has there been roadworks there ??
If they have recently finished they look like they will be taken off the next release of the database??
Or they have been taken off and you have an old database???
Maybe someone in the know will be able to clarify for you |

First things first, which database are you using? If you are using the single database, then you won't be able to tell what type of camera you are being warned about. In this situation, if you are warned about a camera and you can't see one, then the warning is, more likely than not, about a mobile. On motorways, these will normally be on overbridges or, less frequently, hard standings at the side of the road, normally marked up "Police vehicles only".
If you browse the TT map at one of these locations, once you are safely parked, tap the camera icon and you'll get the camera name. _________________ Jock

If you browse the submissions map HERE
There are approx 50 cameras (I got bored counting) crossed out that arent on the latest database. I just browsed the map on my TomTom and it looks like these 50 cameras arent on the latest TomTom database.... |

Also, just in case SOME of the warnings are being triggered for cameras not even actually on the route itself, you might want to read this post
HERE
Too.
Apologies for the fact that it goes slightly off topic at the end (that's me and Dennis for you), but the first few posts serve to give information about how and why TomTom warns of cameras off to the side too. |

There are quite a few warnings for cameras when on the M60 for cameras on adjacent roads, this is due to the TomTom software, it is worst around the South Eastern parts of the M60 from what I have experianced - Mike |
