|
|
Hi everybody,
I have recently purchased the Tom Tom Sat Nav with Music Edition. Can't think what the model number is but its the one with the iPod adapter and FM transmitter and Bluetooth etc.
The problem I am having is this. When I plug my iPod into the Tom Tom and the sound comes from the car speakers, I want to turn the speech directions OFF so that it doesn't interfere with my music (ie turns it down when it needs to give me directions). Is there a way to do this?
I would really appreciate your answers.

There is no way to achieve this unless you use the silent voice which can be downloaded from some sites.
By design, the navigation instructions take priority over any music being played.
I have removed your email address from the post, email addresses become the target of spam bots and having asked the question in a forum you should allow the answer to be posted likewise. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well you can go into voice pref and turn off the voice there. But the POI warnings will still go off though |

True, I had forgotten that option, it doesn't exist on all the v7 devices.
Spawn, if you simply wish to turn the voice navigation OFF then you can 'disable voice' in voice preferences. This will completely disable all voice navigation. It won't mute navigation only when you have music playing but it might be a solution? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Or you could turn the voice off in the voice pref section! Echo echo echo |

Alright, alright, I had mentioned that the silent voice was a better option as it still allowed safety camera alerts to play, then I re-considered and remove it. As it is now, I have simply repeated your erstwhile advice so I shall now shut up _________________ Darren Griffin |
