Yes they will work fine one the device you mention along with spoken alerts and larger icons which are both optional extras you can install to compliment the data base - Mike |

I am trying to decide on a change of satNav. I have had for over a year a Navman F30 combo "satnav & Tmc" although ok it has very limited poi's and has quite a few mapping inaccuracies. I am trying to decide on a possible change to a TomTom one v3 uk.
Any suggestions which way to go. I have seen some reviews but never know if they are a bit biased against Tomtom. I rang my local Halfords who at one store said TomTom no, go get Garmin. The other get TomTom!
Thanks |

Getting a device that you can get on with the most important part, most units will go from A to B and do work reliably, its just some are easier to use than others.
I would go along to your local Halfords and have a play around with each of the possible units you might purchase, come back to the forum and ask questions relating to specific devices (you will get better answers on here than in the shop).
For a starter you should have a read through the notes about the One Third Edition which can be found Here
It is a basic no frills device, the major limiting factor for me would be the lack of a memory card slot, there is plenty of memory in the device, but you would never be able to add a full Europe or USA map to it if you purchased the regional device - Mike |

Thanks for the response I have noticed the Magellan Road Mate 1200 Sat Nav. I wonder if therer is any info on the forums. This does have a memory card slot. Also Speed cam data base which I assume "dangerous that" can be updated. |

I went along to a Halfords Store. Firstly I rang two of their Edinburgh branches. One suggested Garmin the other TomTom. So when i got to the TomTom recco branch guess what, he suggested both. Gave me a demo of the TT one V3 talked about paying for Speed cam updates from TT so . I mentioned that I had seen some reviews mentioning the TT freezing up he stated that was few and far between. So I am not sure. Saw that with a special Halford voucher they can be bought for£112. But can't quite fathom out how the vouchers are printed out!

The discount codes are only for online purchases AFAIK, you can save some money this way and have the device delivered to your address, I am not too sure whether Halfords allow you to use a discount code in store I would imagine not - Mike |
