Kirrio cradle and TomTom 6

Hi all,

I purchased a Kirrio gps cradle for Palm togther with ViaMichelin software.

It works no problem but I wanted to change to TomTom 6.

So I removed the ViaMichelin Software, but kept the gpsutility, installed the TomTom software.
It seems to work but the Tom Tom software never finds the Kirrio, it says no gps unit.

What to do?

Drawn from other threads on this forum so you may already have resolved it:
Remove the viaMichelin map software, leaving the viaMichelin GPS utility in place.
Set tomtom to 'Other NMEA Cable' Baud rate 19200 com port 1

You will lose the cradle amplifier and may have to find a way to bluetooth/wifi into your car radio if the voices are important to you and the Palm's volume is insufficient.
(It has been reported that simply cutting the buds (phones) off a set of earphones and inserting the jack with just the wires loose into the earphone jack of a TX will for some unfathomable reason cause the cradle amp to work, I have not seen this tested though).

As this is on a Palm you may also wish to investigate the "Softick Cache" utility which can speed up data transfer for SD cards. It's shareware so you can try it out and see if it helps before parting with any money.
