ONE upgrading maps

I am considering buying a tomtom one gb maps i was just wondering if at a later stage i decided i needed mapes for europe will i be able to get them on an sd card ?

Or do i have to buy the tomtom one with european maps from the start ?

Beware... the TomTom ONE that is available for sale at the moment (the "3rd Edition") does not have an SD card slot, it has internal memory ONLY.
The version with Europe maps has 1GB and the "regional" version has only 512MB.
The memory is not upgradable, so there's no room for larger maps!

If you don't want to get the Europe version now, see if you can find an older model that DOES have a card slot (the ONE "New Edition" a.k.a "Second Edition"). Then, there is no problem, you can buy a bigger card at a later date and put the Europe maps on it.

Maybe take a look at the widescreen One XL instead. That still has a card slot as well as internal memory.

There is an excellent review of the ONE "3rd Edition" HERE. Well worth reading as it describes some other limitations that model has compared to the rest of the TomTom range.
