bit of newbie help required here.

have been using TT2 for a few weeks now, and i am getting on alright with most of the features but just a couple of questions.

where can i get the latest updated maps from? have looked on tomtom but cant seem to find anything there that is much use.

also when going into the alternative route menu, what is this roadblock thingy all about, have seen it but i havent looked it yet or anything, just wondering if someone could give me an idiots guide to it.

cheers

Hi,

New maps are generally only available with new versions of TomTom. The good news is that TTNav3 is due to be released very soon. We believe the release is due to coincide with CeBIT 2004, which starts on Thursday 18 March 2004. The bad news is that we don’t really know what TTNav3 will be like, what new features it will have, or whether it has updated maps. There is at least one website that has preview information on TTNav3, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear that it is much better than TTNav2.24. Sad

The Avoid Roadblock function allows you to inform TTNav that the next x yards/metres or the next y miles/kilometres on the current road are a problem for you, e.g. a radio reports states that the next two miles of a motorway is very slow moving. TTNav will then try to calculate a new route that will take you off the current road at the next available junction and keep you off that road until you have travelled past the distance that you specified as a problem. Once you’re past the problem TTNav will route you back onto your original route if a better route (according to your settings) has not been found/calculated. Smile

Regards,
