Route 66 Average Road Speed Data

I have just joined the world of satnav with an RAC device. I have managed to add speed camera data, and POI's etc.

My question is, does anyone have a link or access to some average road speed data for the unit. The ETA's are wildly off the mark, and I suspect that some of the routing is influeneced by errors in the data.... eg fastest route seems to send me everywhere by dual carriageway when a back road is quite obviously quicker. I have tried tinkering with the values, but being naturally lazy I was wondering if someone could supply a shortcut.

Have you changed the data in the Speed menu. A dual carriageway is usually faster than a 'short-cut' in terms of road speed, but if you change your Speed settings, it may affect the SatNav's chosen route.

It's the data for the speed menu that I'm trying to get, current default settings are :-

Motorway - 60mph
Subsidiary motorway - 56mph
Main Road - 45mph
Link Road - 30mph
Imortant Local Road - 25mph
Local Road - 20mph
Small Street - 12mph
Unpaved Road - 5mph
Path - 3mph
Pedestrian Area - 3mph

These speeds are by default reduced by 50% for urban areas.

Anybody got some better figures than these?
