Ok we all know about the M25, A3 to the M40 and the cameras with the variable limits, sometimes they flash, sometimes they don't, are they going? are they not?
Well i have it on good authority that in one months time they are going "live" with new digital devices set at 10% plus 2mph, at present they are set to 90mph, alledgedly
They will be linked to the matrix speeds, so guys and girls be careful as they will get you without a flash. |

Sorry Darren didn't see that.
Also yesterday i noticed a specs on the section between the A12 and the M11 heading north, strange as there were no roadworks and no second camera before i exited at the M11.
I will have to keep my eyes out. |

Talking of new Specs systems, the M69 had one installed at the weekend between J2 and the M1 as they are going to resurface it over the next few weeks. _________________ Gerry

That's always been the magic formula, even on side roads, town roads etc.
I wouldn't dream of clocking along at 90mph on the M25, nor any other road, so much debris on the surface and foreign drivers, and of course worse drivers than yourself. |

... but WASN'T for the variable speed cameras on the M25. Established wisdom was that they were switched OFF when the variable limits were not in operation. |

There are actually 2 sets of specs cameras on that stretch of the M25 both of them already in the database

Very true Andy........... ......Always keep within the limits on the M25. I expect Ken Livingstone will charge us parking fees on there one day now that its almost a Car Park. And 4 X 4 owners will hate him even more so...(http://ukpress.google.com/article/ALeqM5g479QNTc1cyPg7W_0HvS6kM8rueQ) |

Not just 4x4 owners, there are some surprising vehicles that fall foul of the new charge, see here. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Including those bumpy, clattering, smoky old London Black Cabs. Too bad they are exempt. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Yeah it would be real good if they weren't
imagine it, they would then charge £200 to go across London. |

No, they would sell these old bangers and get a modern vehicle. ;) _________________ Gone fishing! |
