|
I've updated to TT Home 2.2.1.58 and clicked on the Use Latest Map Guarantee item. Nothing happens, but xulrunner.exe in task manager takes all my memory up over time and bombs out eventually. This happens on Vista 64bit and XP (one the same PC, dual boot) on my TT One Europe. The previous version of home didn't exhibit this, but said something about the TT servers are experiencing a problem.
Can't seen any similar posts or find anything on google.
I'm not actually eligible for an updated map, but was trying things out. I've posted purely for informational purposes in case anyone else gets the same problem. |

Yeh, but nothing about xulrunner and a memory leak (or similar) comes up is my point. 30 hits are pointless in that respect.
I get 29 hits when searching for my cats names! |

All I did was delete xulrunner from task manager , as I had the same problem. All working OK now.

Firstly, all I did was post a point (not a question if you read it properly) which was answered with essentially a statement that I didn't bother to search properly (which I did). Reading my post properly would have prevented both of you taking this down this strange route.
I'm not concerned with the map update, but helping in case anybody (who does want the update) to overcome the problem if they see it. Washman, I have killed the process, TT home bombs out and we start all over again.
I'll leave things as they are now and never intended to upset anybody. All I did was post to try and help

Funny how the written word can be so easily and quickly misconstrued without the intended tone or body language to accompany it...
I know I've dealt my share of unintentional afronts without ever intending to do so. |

Sorry if my mention of the other posts about xulrunner caused offence.
As I have never had a problem with xulrunner on any of the 5 PCs I run 'Home' on, I haven't bothered to REMEMBER the details of every post about it.
However, I HAVE seen enough other people having problems with it to know that xulrunner can be one of the more problematic issues to resolve.
As there has been much work done on it (and I've made the occasional contribution (hampered, as I say, by not experiencing the problem myself)), you MAY find some clues in one of the other topics about it.
Once again I apologise for pointing these out to you. |

Hi Andy,
No offense caused or taken, all blown out of context, lets move on. |

Well, my answer took him directly to the spot on correct solution, so I'm not apologising (and I'm too old and grumpy anyway). And Vera came up on the Lottery last night, so to the lot of you! _________________ Dennis

Dennis-
Unless I'm mistaken, your solution was to just point him to this same thread that he created, which wouldn't have existed in any searches prior to him posting it! Not quite up to your usual superlative standards, mate!
Regardless, congrats on the lottery! |

I did wonder when Dennis posted yesterday, but dare not suggest that as I was already a bad boy. The advice on here has been great so far from the "experienced" posters (please note that the previous comment was said with humor in mind and no malice intended!)
I must stop posting on this now unless it's relevant to the original item. |

Gee, they breed 'em observant in New England. I wonder if it has a South for Southerner Softypantses and a North for Aaaaaaaaaard Northerners? Or is it just "New - as advertised on television"? Will somebody for goodness sake please invent a Smileycon that falls over and rolls round the floor? _________________ Dennis
