You have to be logged into MyTomTom on the TomTom site to be able to access it. _________________ Gerry

I still haven't got it to work - whether I'm logged in or not. |

I have seen it reported that some users found it worked better when using FireFox as the web browser software rather than Internet Explorer, I used I.E. and it worked once logged in.
You can always try FF though by downloading it from Here - Mike |

We might have an answer...
Quote: | Methinks 'tis a cookie problem. I'd got rid of all my TT cookies, then logged into MyTomTom as suggested, but still had access denied. Back to MyTomTom, clicked on My Notifications, and a bundle of new cookies arrived.
Guess what? Next try on the link, {The postcodes file} "zip.zip" got downloaded |

As we were also taking about this in another post Andy i think i know what is wrong with the link, i have been uploading them wrongly with the URL link . If it is ok can i try to upload them again, the reason i ask first is i do not want to start the same thread all over again. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

I don't understand, Ian... YOU aren't UPLOADING them at all. You just provided a link to the TomTom website.
I've seen that you have been having problems getting the syntax right so it displays properly, but Mike sorted that out and posted a corrected one (and it wasn't hard to work out anyway).
In fact I've just waded through the whole 9 pages of The Zipfiles topic and your very first link in your post of Thu Jan 17, 2008 5:14 pm works fine for me, presumably this was one corrected by Mike.
But ,the people who have been having problems HAVE contacted the site, otherwise they wouldn't be getting the access denied messages. |

I've tried both Firefox AND deleting cookies. I'm still left with Permission Denied. |

Are you running a firewall? If so, temporarily switch it off and try again.
If it works OK then you will have to find what setting in your firewall is causing it. |

Yes, I'm running a firewall. Turning it off has made no difference! |

Sorry about that. It was just a possibility, as my firewall has caused me probs in the past. |

No problems - I'm shortly to change my old Go300 for a 520 anyway(when Amazon can be bothered to deliver, but that's a completely different story) so it's not an over-worrying problem, just mildly frustrating that I can't seem to access a web page that everybody else can see!)
Hopefully, the 520 will be more up-to-date whenit arrives. |
