I need help!!
Every time I set the alerts for speed cameras on my new tomtom 920t then connect and disconnect from my computer the device resets itself and the alerts default to Bell 1.
Am I doing something wrong?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

This HAS been seen before. Have a search back through some older posts.
You might well need to run the ClearFlash" utility, or check your MapSettings.cfg file (in your map folder, using Windows Explorer) to see if it has been made "read only". |

I have run the clear flash many times and checked my .cfg folder neither of these had any effect.
Also can't find any old posts about this. |

Have you remembered to do a Factory Reset straight after the Clear Flash Tool. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)

Here is how TomTom told me to run the Clear Flash Tool.
Quote: | Dear Ian,
Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support
There is a small issue here, the phone you are using: the Nolia 6120 is not a compatible device(ie it hasnt been certified to work with our products)
This may be why it was working before, but isnt any more.We always make sure our software updates will work with compatible phones-but cannot be held responsable if a phone hasnt been tested becomes incompatible.
You mention you have tried using 5 other phones, what models are these?
We require you to test the device with a compatible mobile to help you.
Please also do the following:-
- Connect your TomTom to the computer and switch it on.
- Download the attached Clear Flash tool file and save it to your desktop
- Right click on the 'Clear Flash - All.zip' file and extract the files.
- A new folder will appear called 'Clear Flash - All', double click into it
- Click on the 'Clear Flash - All.exe' file.
- Proceed with installing the clear flash tool.
- Once completed, switch your TomTom off, then disconnect it from the PC.
- Switch your TomTom back on.
Make sure when you turn the tomtom on that you perform a factory reset again from the last page of change preferences, then you can check to see if the problem persists.
With Best Regards
The TomTom Customer Support Team
