Can anyone help me ? recently I had a major problem with my computer which required it to go into the repairers... on getting it back, my TT backups for my 910 had gone. Now for some reason I have lost my computer text recognition voices on the TT. Can anyone help me please ?

Have you checked the LoquendoTTS Folder on the 910. It should be just over 4GB.

That's about 500MB per Voice, if you have taken any out.

Can you select a Computer Voice in Change Voice?

LoquendoTTS is 3.07G... I have a folder called Kate in it( which I seem to remember was my selected computer voice... Also one called Simon) but she doesnt appear in my change voice list.
No computer voices show on list (they used to )

Have you tried the usual things?
Reset (with pin/paperclip)
Return to factory settings (from menus)

Most importantly, have you made a new Windows Explorer backup NOW? Even with the TT in it's crippled state, it's better than nothing, if you manage to make matters worse while we're trying to fix it.

Oldboy, can you remember if the TT creates a new "MapSettings.CFG" ( Wink ) file if you just delete/move the original?

Did the long paperclip reset but didnt do the factory reset as I did`nt know whether I would lose my own POI and favourites as they are important to me , but in order to eliminate one fix , I will do it now and pray !
I`ll look in the forum in an hour or two after i`ve backed up
. In the meantime thank you for trying to help me

Prior to sending it back can you connect it to the PC and have a look at the LoquendoTTS folder, open it up and are all the files in lower case or are some upper case letters employed within the file names?

EG:
Amalia.vde
Bernhard.vde
EnglishGb6.7.lde

or are they like this:
amalia.vde
bernhard.vde
englishgb6.7.lde

Mike
