I should have known better but as TT are now at V3 I thought all the bugs would be gone.
I unpacked my new kit and connected to "home" to bring it up to date. I registered to get to use my green card free services of latest map/camera update/mapshare but it refused my code from the card as being out of date or not correct.
Went on to get what updates I could through home and thought I was sorted.
No I didnt log in here first to find that I should have made an explorer backup of all the data first
I set up a route going through known speed camera areas and no camera icons get shown in demo mode? browsing the map shows no camera icons in other map locations either. I have the 3 uk camera files still in memory.
I then tried to demo a route from near Dover to Paris, all went well until near france on the ferry when the demo jumps back to start over near Dover, is this usual?
Did "home" break it for me before I got to use it? |

To see the Cameras in Browse Map, you will need to Enable them in Options by ticking Points of Interest. Then Select POI to choose the POIs that you want to be displayed.

It is meant more for Shop Demo rather than Help the User. _________________ Richard

Thanks for the reply but I think your confusing me now ;-)
This is a TT one V3 and the TT cameras (not gpsworlddbase) are seperate to poi and not listed as such in this version, the cameras have their own menu and all are set to warn audibly but they just dont show as icons on the road maps which is the main problem.
Thanks |

I have TT cameras on my new 920 (not serious, just for laughs!). They do not show on the map until they warn. They warn, then I see the icon. _________________ Dennis

They are a joke then are they not!
I didnt realise they wouldnt show up even when demo'ing a route.
I just dug out my last pgpsw set of camera files and installed them, now I can see routes to avoid or take extra care when using. Looks like I will be renewing my sub!.

Well, bear in mind this was my first day out with the 920, so I may not have set it up correctly? But the TT cameras DID do a little bleep, so they were working alright. I had pgpsw cameras running alongside on a GO720 and you can see the cameras coming with that and also when you browse a route. Plus, I have the terrific spoken warnings which announce the type and speed of each individual camera - the closest you seem to be able to get to this with the TT ones is to have your own recorded spoken warning for a type of camera, but not the speed. I have very little experience with TT cameras - I've never used them, because the pgpsw ones are so much better. I don't think they give you any mobile cameras at first - I understand from what others have said that TomTom's mobiles are only obtainable by subscription. I'm keeping their UK cameras on the 920 just for a short time, in order to prove I'm doing the right thing with the pgpsw ones. _________________ Dennis
