More details, please?
What sort of "One" is it? "Third Edition", "New Edition", "XL", "Original"?
If you click on the bottom left of the normal navigation screen, is the volume slider turned up?
If you go to the POI "Warn when near" set-up page in Change Preferences and start setting up a warning for any POI category, when you get to the page of sound effects, do you hear those if you select one?
Do you have a navigation voice selected? |

The next thing would be a Reset to Factory Settings, the last page of Change Preferences.
What software version are you using now? _________________ Richard
