Anyone out there got any good solutions for mounting a 2210 in a 3 series BMW?

I can't decide on a console mount or window mount.

A mount by the windscreen pillar would be OK, or something down by the gear lever (not obstructing it, of course).

I was thinking of fixing the mount to the ashtray under the cover so it could be removed easily when not in use... Wink

If anyone has any pictures or ideas, please send them!

Thanks,
Dilldog

Having been a person that has tested nearly every mount out there, I must say starting off with a windscreen mount was okay, but the downsides were:-

- reflection through side and rear window when sunny whiting out display
- lots of vibratioin on the Pocket PC which meant text appeared blurred
- you need to rest the mount on the dashboard, otherwise it's liable to drop off eventually
- using heater or cold blower on the windscreen will release the suction on most clamps within 5 mins

Personally I prefer the vent mounts or the Brodit as they overcome all of the above.

Thanks Dave.

I did think reflections could be a problem but I did like the high level view that the Sat Nav in my Lexus provided - looking down at the console while driving means not looking at the road!

Mmm, more thinking to do I guess Confused

That's the downside, if you have it in your field of vision with a windscreen mount it works well, I do hate having to look down a little and take the eyes off the road. 8O

Brodit mounts are what you need Thumbs Up I've just fitted one in a colleague's 328, fits over the drivers side vent using a no holes clip and adhesive tape fitting, looks like an OEM fitting and is in the perfect place for line of sight.
