tomtom 1XL wont switch on

My 1xl wont switch on unless it is connected to a power lead, the battery is charged' and once swiched on stays on when the lead is disconnected on! the switch off when power is disconnected option in preferences is not selected.
has anyone any ideas please

Have you tried Reset to Factory Settings?

You will lose any Favourites and personal settings if you do this.

thanks for that oldboy ,reset tomtom and it now works as it should!
i would never of thought of doing that
