2820 Streetpilot and TMC12

I have a 2820 bought in the US and have purchased a number of TMC antennas (for France, UK etc), have activated all of them (paid the subscription fee) but receive no traffic information. I can see that I am getting a signal but no information. I recently bought a ViaMichelin 980T which also has TMC and on the same route, using both PND's receive traffic information on the Via Michelin but not the Streetpilot. garmin have no answers for me. Does anyone else have this specific problem?

I use a UK TMC on my 2820 and apart from a short period earlier in the year when the signals weren't working it's been great.
Maybe you've got a faulty unit or a bad port connection ?
