Tomtom go 710 , newbie to tomtom never conected to internet before....used home 2.1 now get a report when changing say a Voice..."unable to save preferences File Acess error....what am idoing wrong..or done wrong
internal memory status say 61 memory 28 free, the sd ca rds got 4mb free th |

It could be 1 of 2 things.
The Write Protect Switch on the side of the Card is on.
Or the File itself is Write Protected. Look at MapSetting.cfg in the Map Folder. _________________ Richard

the mapsetting.cfg file is not read only just says archive, moved the switch on the side of the sd and no different
just to be sure should the switch be pushed to the top or push to the bottom
on the sd card |

Try using Reset Factory Settings in Change Preferences. NB. It will lose your settings, Favourites, etc. _________________ Richard

all that done is told me to enter product key for map in Home2.1.....and guess waht...do you think i can find it would i get the access to file error if the map product code was not correctly entered?
ffavourites saved home ok but comes up with the same error cannot save settings
perhaps iwill buy a new SD card and see if it that the problem |

still no change, tried new sd card, tried re-seting all tomtom mapfile to read
any one elsa had this problem,after home2 upload when i try to change a voice and or on start up i get file acces error unable to save settings, and full language request every time i start up then error message
what file is the language settings save to? |

solved
seems that the flash memory was full, found the answer on the tomtom web site
small program downloaded from web site cleared thge falsh memory
problem solved |
