I've just noticed a problem with the 980T Hands Free function when its in the car mount.
It works OK when originating calls, you can hear audio both ways. However on received calls there is NO incoming audio and outgoing audio is very weak. If however I unplug the external TMC aerial it works fine.
And yes , I have checked that the TMC/Headset socket is set to TMC.
Anyone else noticed similar problems ? |

I have been struggling with the Bluetooth on my 970T new edition for 3 weeks with similar problems on 2 separate 970T's and two separate "approved" Bluetooth phones (Nokia 6230i and a Sony Ericsson "T"610).
Several calls and e-mails to VM in France have not solved the problem.
Out-going calls from the car are OK.
My initial problem was that having paired and connected 2 different approved compliant Bluetooth phones, incoming calls tended to cause the 970T to become totally mute.
My wife at home could hear me (either directly from the phone or via the 970T ?) but I can hear nothing.
It then became apparent that all sounds where U/S regardless of volume settings.
Testing the volume resulted only in a faint hiss.
Only solution was a system reset using a paperclip.
After 2 weeks GHS kindly agreed to exchange the unit for another one with which I am still having Bluetooth problems.
I conducted a further test of 10 incoming calls with my Sony Ericsson T610 and with 4 of these I could not hear anything, but so far the replacement unit has not gone totally "mute".
However, after one successful incoming call - a FATAL APPLICATION ERROR occurred immediately after hanging up.
Application MAPSONIC.EXE has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
Exception: 0x80000002
Address: 00015c00
The "test volume" button was now missing.
I will test to see if disconnecting the TMC Ariel improves things. |

I think that maybe the TMC aerial isnt the only cause. Having succesfully recieved an incoming call yesterday morning from a landline , later that day a call from a mobile exhibited the same problem. I dont get many incoming calls but so far ALL calls from mobiles have failed and 1 call from a landline was ok ONLY if i removed the TMC aerial. I'm going to try further tests next week to try and get to the bottom of the problem.
Anyone else's experience would be useful. BTW my mobile is a Motorola RAZR V3 if that is significant. |

Hi All
Sorry that I haven't been in touch for a while but to say that we are busy with the Christmas rush would be an understatement.
I just wanted to update everyone on whats going on and how we are stiull working to support you.
I have a meeting on Thursday with Product Management and while I can't promise that all the issues will be cleared up right away, I do have the list from the site (thanks to you all) and will be going through each issue.
Just to let you know the V7.02 update on the web fixes several problems including:
"Slip Road Flaw": Route would take you off some slip roads then back on again.
- Message "Corrupted data" in Content Manager, under Vista
- Dangerous curves indication (left or right) was random
- System would shut down when deleting a stage along route planning
- No route after download of MyViaMichelin via GPRS
- ... and many wording mistakes that were corrected
We will have an update arounf 17th Decenber to V7.03 which will fix the speed camera download issues some people are getiing and other issues - I will post a full list of what this changes when I have it.
I know that some of you have had an issue with creating new folders when you have downloaded V7.02 and would ask anyone who can to email me a screen shot of this error to show to the developers.
I have now got a direct line to one of the chief software developers on the team and any info you give will be directed to him to make any urgent changes which affect the use of the products. Any cosmetic changes you want to recommend will be taken on board and put forward for inclusion in V8 in March but I think we need to sort out errors first.
Thanks to you all for the support,
Regards
