|
|
I have a TT700 running v7.161. I recently installed TT Home v2.1, and when I backup, it completes in s few seconds with no error messages.
I may be missing something obvious, but when I used to backup using TT Home v1.5, it took about 10 - 15 mins, and backed up about 1.4gb of data. It clearly isn't backing up fully. The software tells me I can only backup one copy of the TT and the next backup will overwrite the existing copy Can anyone advise me what's going on?
Many thanks,

the original backups created a complete copy of the contents of your tomtom now all it does is updates the backed up files.
I hope that made sense.

What DOESN'T make any sense, is to use Home for your backups!
Time and time again, people report that their "Home-produced" backups have failed to copy everything, or simply won't restore.
We keep thinking that new versions of Home have fixed it, but your experiences seem to prove that's wrong yet again.
Just give up on Home, and use Windows Explorer to make your backups instead (instructions in the very first FAQ HERE if you need any, but it is SO simple).
You can see what you are doing, and you can give each backup a sensible name (something that the latest Home has made even worse for its own backups apparently!). |

Thanks for your comments guys.
I think I'll take Andy_P2002's advice and copy / paste using Explorer. At least I'm then in charge of my own destiny, and know what's is or isn't backed up.
Surely in shouldn't be difficult for TT to perfect this in Home?
Best regards,

You'd think so wouldn't you?
As I said, I thought it *had* been sorted, but once bitten twice shy! |
