TT Repair Centre in Meltdown ?

There must be a lot more faulty x20's than even the many reports in these forums suggest.

My second 720 (the first one was faulty and was replaced by the retailer) has now been at the repair centre for 6 weeks and no sign yet of me getting it back. From the many phone calls and emails I have exchanged with support staff it is clear that the repair centre is swamped with x20 units and can't cope. One TT staff member told me that TT are desperately trying to find another repair centre to take on their repairs - there are that many waiting to be done ....!

I wonder how long TT can keep these units before they have a legal responsibilty to forget about the repair and send me a new replacement instead ...??

Since I bought my original unit back at the beginning of August I have actually only had one to use for 2 weeks !

I didn't have a wonderful opinion of TT customer service before this farce - now I think they could win The Absolutely Worst Customer Service in the World award.

It will be of no consolation to you, but you've made a mistake letting it go back for repair - I've taken FIVE back and exchanged them, NO WAY would I consider letting them go away for repair. My attitude is very simple - I have used TT GOs since May 2005 and have come to rely on them for my life (as a whitevanman), so repair is simply not an option - I'll accept nothing other than refund or replacement on the spot.

Yep, they "lost" my unit - had to supply proof of postage and then hey presto I get an email saying they received it (3 weeks after Royal Mail reported it delivered) and have to wait another 10 days before I can nag them again (because I'm sure it won't turn up before then).

Luckily I held on to my 510... though TT did offer to extend my PLUS services for the period they have had the unit.

Not sure on the legal standpoint - worth checking tho.
