have just purchased a navman s90i and already twice whilst in the middle of a planned journey the machine just totally closes down and reboots itself back up and carries on with the route. i have had previous navman products and to me this doesnt seem right. have i just been unlucky with the one ive been sold or have any other members experienced the same problem

Mine has started doing exactly the same thing yesterday. In light of the two units i have had due to various problems i would avoid the new S series Navmans till they sort out the long list of faults.

well today was the first day of it going through its paces and how disapointing it was. in a total of 6 different routes in less then 5 hours it rebooted itself 5 times. to say i wasnt impressed would be putting it mildly. i managed to ring navman tech support who suggested i do a hard reset and that they have never heard of that fault before. why do all techincal supports say they never heard of problems when clearly theres an issue. i would rather be told yes we are aware of it and a fix will be coming shortly. will report back tomorrow to see whetehr a hard reset has cured it or not.

It probably affects only people who use some particular feature. If you can come up with reliable way to reproduce this it, do ring them back and give them all the steps -- if they can reproduce the crash it will bump their priority up for inclusion in the next service pack. Also, post your steps here so that other people can test and call Tech support.

well today since the hard reset it only crashed the once and it seems to do it when i have a route planned. today i just had it as guidance as knew where i was going most of the time yet when a route was planned thats when it decided to crash. tomorrow will put it more to the test and plan routes all day and see whether that causes it to happen more.

Phoned Navman today regarding the matter of my unit crashing and restarting. Was told that it was due to software corruption and as my unit was under 28 days old to return it for a replacement. I have just sent it back for a refund as this was my second faulty one. I have bought a Tomtom one xl from pc world for £159 and this is cheaper and a far better unit with no problems whatsoever.

the s90i cuts out when you put in more than 3 poi's take off all but 3 and it won't cut out. have told navman tec about the problem. i know you need to put on speed cams on.the problem is the custom poi, they have overload the poi's so it affects the the unit.

the last 2 days now it has only rebooted itself the once and i think that was more down to me as i accidentally pressed the camera button instead of the off buton and turned it off straight away before camera had time to load.
as for the poi`s i do only have the speed cams active but there are 5 poi`s as such. hopefully things will start to settle and that navman bring out a fix soon as the unit is very good in general
