I've been running TomTom Navigator 5 on a Palm TX without any problems for about a year. Last time I used it, it worked perfectly on the way to my destination, but I couldn't get it to pick up the GPS signal on the way home. I've not been able to get it to work since. I'm using the TomTom Wireless GPS Mark II unit and it's fully charged, nothing else has changed on my Palm. The unit flashes to show it's picking up the signal, but the Palm complains that there is no GPS signal. Bluetooth is turned on.

Has anyone any suggestions of what might have gone wrong and how to fix it?

Check the satellite status screen on the Palm.

If the chequered circle is rotating then it should be communicating with the TT GPS. Are there any signal strength bars being shown? Are any 'active' i.e. dark blue?

If you are not getting any connection to the GPS at all, I would suggest re-pairing the GPS and the PALM and start from scratch.

Is the TT GPSmkII locking to sats? The green light should be flashing.
One thing I have had with my TT GPSMkII is that if the GPS is fully charged AND connected to a charger it sometimes fails to get a signal lock. Disconnecting the power, switching it off and on always fixes this. I don't know what causes this - but it is fairly infrequent.

The actual error message is quite crucial. One implies that the Palm can't connect to the GPS and the other implies a connection is made but no data is being communiated. The latter message is "Waiting for valid GPS signal..." Can't remember the former message!
