Has anybody had a problem with there X51 and a CF GPS card? Im running tomtom v6.0 on this brand new PDA. I use a CF GPS reciever but im having some problems.
When navigating in TOMTOM, the graphics freezes, asif its stopped navigating, if i then go into the menu during navigation then exit out again, it will start navigating as normal, but then half a mile down the road it will just stop again (it will still have the signal). Its not the GPS reciever, and its not the TOMTOM v6.0 software as i have tested it with the same set-up settings, same gps reciever on my old PDA (Acer N10) which is years old compared to the X51.
I read a few things on the web about resolving the issue, some suggested a few fixes in activesync, this didnt work, a few suggested updated the X51's ROM version, which i did (to Version A04, does anyone know if there is a newer one out?)
Apart from that im clueless, i bet if i hook up a bluetooth GPS reciever it will work fine and dandy, is it just the X51's do not like CF for some reason or other? |

The X51 is troublesome with a CF GPS, there ahve been a few posts about it in the past A12 is the last reported ROM and that did fix a number of issues for users of the device, see This Thread - Mike |

I thought the A12 ROM was for the X51v only?? Mine is a Dell Axim X51 (520mhz) and its currently running A04. |

Have a look at the Dell Help / support site as it does state this ROM is for the x51 AND x51V see Here - I am not 100% sure this will fix the issue you have but it has to be worth a try - Mike |

Try it again, if it fails I think your best bet is to contact the support outfit directly by phone / e-mail and see if they can offer additional assistance, the Dell support page clearly states this update is applicable so only they (the supplier) can explain why it doesn't work - Mike |
