|
|
I bought a 920T for myself in the new year. Being a lorry driver it is used all week in the cab, after 2 days the remote stopped working then the rds traffic seemed to never find a station and now on bringing it home to back up my new POI's, routes and destinations it won't connect to my PC. I have reinstalled the Home software. Made a back up of the 920 when I bought it and updated all the software on it to the latest. Was told to reset it but even that doesnt work. Push in and hold reset for 15 secs then turn on. When it restarts it still has all my old data, my previous route and still has the old problems.
Any ideas? |

The reset doesn't 'wipe' it, it simply resets it hence why your data is still present.
When you connect to your PC do you get the on-screen message on the 920 'Connect to PC'? _________________ Darren Griffin |

And does it appear as a mounted drive on your PC's Desktop? _________________ Darren Griffin |

You may find you need to change the drive letter of your CD/DVD drive to leave two spare drive letters for the Go to use.
For example if you have a C & D drives and the D is your CD/DVD change it to F to make D & E available for the Go.
Do it from the Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, right click on CD/DVD drive, Chsnge Letter and Paths. _________________ Graham.

It should find it's own Drive Letter. Mine is H:.
RaistlinUK Have you tried a different USB Cable?
Have you tried Reset to Factory Settings? Be aware that this will remove your preferences and any Favourites you might have. _________________ Richard

I Know it should, but I have to allow two spare drive letters before the DVD & BlueRay drives to get the Go720 and my Fuji Pro camera to connect. The Go connects with drive letter V for the SD card & W for the Go. Also doesn't help having 8 x 1 terabyte external drives on the system. _________________ Graham.

Dare I admit, my 920 shows up as drives Q and R!
ALWAYS remember to use the "usb thingie" in the tasktray to STOP the TomTom or else sometimes it will not show up the next time and a computer reboot might be necessary. (it is also a safe maneuver to make sure nothing is being written to the tt as you unplug it) |

If you have not allready done so you should have a read at the FAQ's in THIS thread which will give you a better understanding of your unit and the best way to back-up (which you should do the first time you connect it to a computer) and a lot of help also. _________________ NEW Tomtom GO 500 (hope it is good)
