This site has been recommended to me to download the camera database for my new tomtom v3
Has the one-off £2 subscription been stopped and it's now only the £19 a year that is available?
Thanks for any replies. |

Yes, it has been changed to £19/year but you will be able to have Free Downloads for 'LIFE' if you are the first to notify the website/database of a new or changed location [provided you have paid the initial £19].

To be more accurate you must have a valid subscription at the time you SUBMIT the camera(s) to PGPSW. If the subscription lapses and you are the first then you'll still qualify for free lifetime subscription. |

Shame about that, the £2 update was a good thing for likes of me and my occasional trip outwith our normal travel area, but £19 has pushed it a bit too far for me. Perhaps they may reconsider if income drops? |

£19 per year (plus the chance of free membership) is not a lot when you think that the cost of running a car can easily run into thousands per yea, plus the cost of the car itself and the satnav...!

Figures have risen since the change and we have measurably reduced piracy. It's not likely to be re-appearing anytime soon. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the reply lads. From the business point of view I can see where you are coming from and I can appreciate the piracy aspect to a point but in my case and that of a few others it clearly no longer suits our needs at the moment.
What’s worse is that I missed out on a free month while I was subscribed back in July when I got the acknowledgement:- ‘Thanks xxxxx, certainly looks like ours so I have reported him. Kind Regards Darren xxxxxxx Technical Director.
Just remember not all £2 subs payers are rip off merchants and we do defend your rights given the chance. |

I appreciate that this change affects some but we were left with little choice. Piracy had risen to the point were it was beginning to damage the long term viability of the service.
It is still excellent value (equivalent to £1.58 per month), cheaper than any of our competitors and still comes with the lifetime subscriber offer should you be the first to report a new site or provide change information.
I have however just now added one month to your account to show our thanks for your earlier piracy report which preceded our reward offer. _________________ Darren Griffin
