You will be getting either illegal copies of software, raster maps (So no navigation support like routing and guidence), or really B grade time wasting crap (Excuse my French).
or .....
It sounds suspiciously similar to software freely avaible for download elsewhere. Search this forum for "Unlocked" and iCN510 - theres info for the 550 which is similar, although not as widely supported as it was not as large a seller as the 510/520
There is was a web site dedacated to unlocking Navman Devices, something like navmanunlocked.com, but thats not it. Have a search - it had lots of really cool stuff, all free, all legal, and no pretence it was something it wasn't. Failing that, gpspassion.com has a popular thread in this subject.
Don't touch this with a barge poll, you will almost certainly get burnt, get the free stuff, then it's just time you stand to lose. |

At around £20 for the maps they list it is most probably a collection of freely available software to unlock the unit and TomTom maps from illegal web sites, these would be supplied "pre-activated" that is why they want the device or the device serial/ codes. They also supply a Speed Camera Database, I wonder where that came from?? - we might have to find out.
For £20 you will not get a legal GPS map of any major country, let alone a couple of continents, typical e-bay - if it looks too good to be true then it most probably is - Mike |

Thanks for all of the feedback. I took the advice and left the Ebay item alone. Have taken a nose around the navmanunlocked link. Very interesting.
Cheers again.
