Hello
I'm looking for a sat nav with speed camera detection capabilities(all types of speed cameras!) however i currently have the tom tom go 500 with speed camera POI's on there but i want to buy a new one because the tom tom go 700 only will warn you of a speed camera when a route is planned it will not warn me if i just switch it on and drive.
therefore i was wondering if you guys could reccomend me some systems that are
1) sat nav with speed camera warnings (all camera types when a route is planned)
2) or when the sat nav is not in use (such as no route is planned) and the unit is switched on and to keep warning me of upcoming speed cameras as i drive
sorry if my messgae is not in the best understanding trying my best to explain the problem!
thanks alot |

In the Warn When Near Menus, the last page has an Option to Warn only if on Route. Leave this unticked and it will warn you at all times. _________________ Richard

TT don't show mobiles. You'd be better off subscribing to this site, where the database includes all cameras and is updated at least once per month and often twice. |

Route 66 offers the functionality you want in that it will warn only if POI is on route and it reverts to warning anyway if a route is not planned, this is great in use. For a PNA style device look at the RAC devices as they run Route 66 code. It will accept the database from this site and supports spoken alerts for the POI - Mike |

Amazon are offering deals on selected RAC devices at present.
Also Garmin nuvi (at least 310 and 660) have 'automatic' warn only on route if route active and warn regardless when no route planned. Works very well. _________________ Phil |
