|
|
Hi folks,
I would like to use my GO 720 to hear audible audio files. Everything works fine as long as I copy the files into the "audiobooks" directory on the internal memory card. However, I am not able to use my SD card to store these audio files. I created an directory named "audiobooks" on the SD card and copied the aa-files into this directory. However, they are not found by the TomTom Jukebox.
If I use the Audible Manager to copy the audio files, it does not show me the SD card at all.
As the internal memory is very limited, I would like to use the SD card for the audio files. Can someone tell me how to do this?
Any help will be appreciated,
Breston |

Welcome to the forum, at the moment the device can only read the audio books from the memory of the device, one of the forum members informed TomTom of this a while back, you can also read there reply see Here - all we can hope for is a new software update to fix the problem at a later date - Mike |

Would not the Mobilnova SWare do it? I now have 49 half hour comedy recordings in Mp3 on my 1G card running through the music part of mobilnova. It even stops playing when TT give directions or a speed cam warning or if the phone rings. Brilliant. |

The TomTom's standard built-in player works fine with mp3s located on either the Flash memory or the SD card.
The OP is talking about audiobooks which due to an oversight/c*ck up will not play from the SD card yet. I don't think the Mobilnova can handle audiobooks (which are in a proprietary format) at all. |

I've got some good news: obviously TomTom has managed to fix the bug concerning audible files on the SD card. About a week ago, after one of these frequent updates, my TomTom Jukebox suddenly found the audible files on the SD card. (Glad I left them there, otherwise I wouldn't have noticed that something had changed.)
Well - finding the files does not mean playing the files. I had to copy the authorisation.sys file (or something like that) from the audiobooks directory on the internal flash memory to the audiobooks directory on the SD card. Now everything works fine. :-)
Happily,
