|
|
I've just got a new TomTom OneXL - and for some reason it can't see any of the POIs that came with the device. I can create new POI categories ("Test"), and then get the Test.bmp/Test.ov2 files created in the maps folder. But, it won't let me see any of the POIs that came with the device - e.g. Safety_Cam_UK_TomTom.ov2 (Which also has a .dct and .ver extension, but no .bmp). I did try creating a matching .bmp, but no joy
Any clues as to what might have gone wrong?
Thanks,
Greg |

Greg
The speed camera POIs that come from TomTom do not behave the same as regular POIs. I don't believe you can show them on the map - they only appear when on route.
At this point most people here would point out that a more up to date and customisable list of cameras is available on this site (big icon at the top left of the screen).
As for the other POIs (airport, beach etc), go to the preferences menu and tap "show poi on map". Tick any that you wish to appear.

That explains it; thanks! gc92000 wrote: | At this point most people here would point out that a more up to date and customisable list of cameras is available on this site (big icon at the top left of the screen). | Well that's what I've used in the past; but as my new device came with a set, I wanted to be able to compare and contrast the two. Looks like comparing them won't be easy!
Thanks for clearing up my confusion!

Greg | I presume the Route Demo would show them? If so, run a demo past your favourite local cameras or run the suggested route in the FAQ. _________________ Jock

Hi Greg if the camera POIs are downloaded from TomTom check to see if you have a plus folder on your device(eg Great_Britain_Plus ) if you have then look in there you might find them there |
