Hi all,
can some one think why my new refurbish tomtom 910 don't save my favourites.
the other night i saved a location and added it as a favourite, tom said fave stored.
last night i tried to bring up the favourite and i got "route not found."...so today i started my round and added 6 places as favourites to test the 910 and all worked.
but tonight i stored one location by again adding gps position again, drove a few miles and tried to recall this route and again no rout found ???
i find this hard to understand,,,any ideas guys
also i guess the window mount for this tomtom is well spoken of,,whats the best cure ???

Are you storing the GPS position a little while after you have parked up? The location may have wandered on the TT and you may have stored a point that is slightly off the road in a field. I've had this happen to me. It won't navigate to a field. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Try using Browse map and then the cursor button to store the Fav location, for some reason this will store a usable "off Road" location, the device will then route you to the nearest on map point it can - I don't knowe why there is a difference in how the location is stored but my 910 has done this since the day I got it - Mike |

Same problem here, with a 510, 520 and OneV2.
I canoe/kayak, so am fequently setting favorites that are quite literally in the middle of a field. The best I have come up with is to set the favorite as I leave or rejoin the nearest road.
I'll try the browse map suggestion above, as that makes sense in a weird TT kind of way. |

You have to remember that the TT Devices are Road Navigators, therefore to them if it's not near a road it will have a problem. It might be a 'road' to us but unless it's marked, on the Map you're using, as a road then the Device won't want to know. _________________ Richard

by the way my favourites are on known roads

I remember this issue being mentioned before and the workround was to save the position as a POI rather than a favourite (or vice versa!).
However I think it has been sorted now anyway...
Using v7 software on my 720, I just used "browse map" to find a position well away from any roads, which I then saved as both a Favourite and a POI.
I then tried navigating to both, and I get exactly the same result both times - it quite happily calculates a route to the nearest navigable road or track. |
