Hi
I have been told that I am getting a Navman S50 as a birthday gift. Are there any hints or tips that people can give so that I can get the best performance from it. From the website I see there is a service pack 2 - what does this fix?.
I believe it comes with speed cameras loaded. How upto date will they be and will they get updated for free? If they are not updated would I be better downloading the ones from here than Navman.
Thanks _________________ David |

I have also just been told that my brothers have bought me a T2 traffic module. How easy is this to install and use?
Thanks again _________________ David |

The S Series is very easy to use
Update to Service Pack 2 (recommended) but takes an age for improved routing and more reliable performance (although okay prior to update)
Speed camera database included will be 12 months out of date, and really for static (fixed) cameras only - but very comprehensive in that respect
The PGSPW database is much more up to date, especially with regard possible mobile locations
However, the S Series doesnt currently work well with over 12,000 custom pois (the PGSPW database is around 18,000) and cause it to crash and / or slow down considerably
What I do is use the built in system for all fixed, and the PGSPW databse for mobiles only - a good combination in my experience |
