HTC S621 to 359W connection problems - sometimes

I have an HTC S621 Smartphone running a 359W GPS. with WM5

I setup the bluetooth with the phone using com6 speed 4800.

Problem is, I cant get any software to connect to the gps, except one, "pocket streets" all other software such as utilities, just hang, one program GPS Utilities says "there may not have available COM port" I'm not sure what that means since the phone has already asstablished that COM6 has worked.
other programs also just hang searching for a com port with no luck.

any1 have any ideas?

Its bad enough that there is very little that works with the phone, even worst that when something will run on the phone wont connect to the gps.
