In my local area there are 3 different sites where the cameras have been removed, yet they remain in the database. I have tried to submit the positions but they have a cross through them, how long does it take before they are removed as this has been several months.

If the map shows they have a cross through them they have been removed. However it might have taken a while to verify they had gone.

Can you tell us which cameras we are talking about and when was the last time you downloaded the database?

I have the most recent download, and the cameras I am talking about were removed at least 3 months ago. The problem might be, along the stretch of roadworks where the cameras were not all have been removed although there is a red cross through them. can you tell me how I get the camera position from your web site.

AH. Do you mean the ACTUAL Camera itself has a red cross? I thought you were referring to the camera icons on the map page.

If you look at the map on CLICK HERE type in your Post Code and then scroll around the map until you find the cameras. If you left click on the map you can drag it about.

Click on the camera and at the bottom left it'll say something like GATSO:12345@50 - that's what we need.

None of those cameras are in the latest (24 Sept 2007) PGPSW database.

Which database are you using and when did you last download it? I notice you have a TomTom - did you have the TomTom database and has it been disabled? Did you replace the old copy of the PGPSW database with the same type of database when you updated it (i.e. Consolidated, Single File etc?)

Might be worth removing the PGPSW database from your TT and reloading it with a fresh download.

I'm also still not very clear about the crosses. Are these crosses on the map page? If so they have been removed already.

the database I have downloaded is 724354-pgpsw-speed-cams.zip
I copied the information into United_Kingdom_and_Republic_of_Ireland
and the cameras I am talking about are still on my tomtom.

The strange thing is, I have decided to remove this information from tomtom and all speed cameras still appear.

as Far as I am aware I have removed all information so I am not sure why I can still see the icons when calculating a route.

can you help?

Sounds like you must have more than one version of the database installed, either the PGPSW one AND the TomTom one, or two versions of the PGPSW one.
Can you list ALL the .ov2 files that appear in your map folder, as seen by Windows Explorer.

Having taken out the card and re-inserted back into the tomtom the cameras have disappeared. I have re-copied the info back onto the tomtom card but can't see the cameras.using tomtom home I can see they are there.

Please check using Windows Explorer not TomTom Home. Home does not tell the truth about what user POIs are installed.

Edit: Ahh... might have mis-understood your post. Are you saying Home sees the PGPSW camera POIs, but you cannot enable them on the unit now?

I don't know what the problem was, I have re-built the card from a backup and re-installed the camera database everything is working o.k.

the camera positions are correct.
