Hi
Have you stopped the 1 month (£2) subscription ?
All I can find is the £19 annual.

I'm sorry to hear that. £2 was the right money for the database. The only change I have noted (since June) is the roadworks on the A90 have now gone so my Garmin "pings" me.
Even on a recent trip from Plymouth to Edinburgh (via Folkstone) the database was not innacurate.
I guess they know what they are doing but I would have thought that £2 is not worth pirating.
Has the situation improved since this change do you know ? |

You'd have thought but it was being widely pirate.

It's not even been a week yet. However as we can trace those that upload the database to file sharing sites and P2P networks we can ban them. They now loose £19 a time instead of £2. |

Well that makes sense. Good luck.
It's a shame that there are those wishing to undermine you. |

I used to just do the monthly subscription because the updates seem to be more than a month apart so I didn't bother every month.
I've actually just subscribed for the year so I hope the updates come more regularly than they have been doing. _________________ Paul

They have usually been coming at least twice a month for ages now. This month one was missed because MaFt who admins the database was allowed to have a holiday.

All I meant was it used to be twice a month but then it dropped to once or sometimes less.
I do appreciate the hard work you guys put in. It's saved me a few points and probably my job. Have a good weekend _________________ Paul

Since May this year.
30th May 2007 to 18th June 2007 = 19 day gap.
18th June 2007 to 10th July 2007 = 22 days
10th July 2007 to 27th July 2007 = 17 days
27th July 2007 to 20th August 2007 = 24 days
20th August 2007 to 21st September 2007 = 32 days
Only one went over a month without an update. |

Just out of interest and to schwing us away from any bickering. What typically changes each update ?
Are you totally reliant on us users to provide you with info (?) or are you also questioning the planning authorities/camera partnerships too ?
How many "new" static camera's are there each month/update ?
What changes the most (road works I guess ;o) ? |

for the uk as a very rough guide there are usually about 15-20 new static cameras added each month, about 5-10 temporary/specs (roadworks) added/removed each month and around 5-10 static cameras removed.
we could spend a considerable amount of time calculating exactly what has changed but to be honest i don't think it's worth the time and effort.
as for asking SCP's etc for info all you ever get are answers like 'there is one on the a650 near bradford' or 'please see our website for full details' which then tells you 'there is one near wakefield' - not helpful at all, and no where near accurate enough!

That's quite a monthly increase. The bike press (well MCN at least) is full of the decrease in mobile usage, quoting some SCP's down by several hundreds of hours per month. South Yorks mobiles spent 110 hours less in June 2007 than they did in June 2006. I have spotted the difference too. In Edinburgh, just as you approach the airport, a van used to sit regularly on the left by a footbridge. I haven't seen it for at least 7 months. There used to be a police man hiding in the bushes on the A7 too but he's not been there for a while either.

You're right, it's not, I was interested and would have enjoyed looking at the graph if this was a simple, single button, function of your database.

Which considering they are supposed to be "in the public record" is poor to say the least.
Just one more question - how many subscribers do you have now ? |
