Hi all I did was copy the camera file with the extension .ov2 ie
pocketgps_uk_mobile30.ov2
pocketgps_uk_mobile30.ogg
and then renamed it .ogg obviously removing the "copy of" from the front.

Version 7 is supported and it will work with ogg files, when the device asks if the sound is correct simply answer "Yes" even though it doesn't play anything - don't select anything JUST PRESS YES, it will have picked up the ogg file and will use, don't answer "No" or your device will lock up displaying some stupid message about missing photograhs - Mike
PS Please don't double post the same question in the forum multiple times it makes tracking answers difficult |

Have to say.... that is complete rubbish.
The .ov2 file is the binary data for the locations, the .ogg is a standard format sound file. Copying the actual .ov2 and renaming it won't give you sound. |

I'm not having a good day. Tomtom home v2 is not available to me, v7 is not ready for my tt1 until q3, (which is any time now) and although I've followed the voice warnings for the speed cameras install guide it will not work on my unit.
I followed the instructions to the letter, downloaded the correct file, installed it and tried to give the speed cameras the voice warnings.
i went into manage POI's and then 'warn when near' , when it came to the 'warn when on route only page' it said 'done' at the bottom, I press that and it goes back to the start. What does this mean? It won't let me choose any sound file, i.e beep, cow, horn, let alone the voice warnings.
I downloaded the speed cameras and sound clips from this site, they are both the correct corresponding file type, the tomtom is v2 bought new in Jan '07 with the latest tomtom updates. Anyone on here got any ideas? |

Have a read of #5 on This Page - there is a section about testing the spoken camera warnings on the device whilst sat at home - try it as you might have the correct set-up from what you describe - Mike |

As I'm sure it says in the instructions, if you are using the ".ogg" sound clips, then they will automatically assign themselves to the appropriate POI file if the names are correct. You will NOT get a chance to assign a sound, it skips to the next page.
Although this may seem a bit strange, you have to remember the TomTom was not designed to work like this, we are exploiting a "hidden" feature. |

CORRECTION - You're having a GOOD day. Don't spoil it by wishing Home 2 upon yourself. _________________ Dennis

Hah!! Are you using Home 2 then? Not using Home 2 isn't sharp, it's just plain common sense! _________________ Dennis

I'm using both...
1.6 at home
1.6 AND 2.0 on one PC at work
and 1.5 and 2.0 on another PC at work |

But you're not risking Home 2 at home, just on your (boss's) work machines. Softy Pants Southerner!!
Enough of that frivolity. How does one get two versions onto one machine? I'd be prepared to have 2 if I could still have my existing 1.6 to fall back on. _________________ Dennis
