Garmin 60csx, which maps?

Just wondering which maps you people think are best for my shiny new 60csx. I need it to work as a turn by turn, post code seeking traffic type system most of the time, in the UK. Will also be using it when cycling, off road driving and for the occasional trip to Spain and France.
Have seen some not so good comments about the Garmin maps, with reference to value, etc. But do the alternatives offer full functionality? If this has been asked already I apologise, but please point me in the right direction for where to look.
