NoChex Woes

I tried to make a one-month sub via NoChex last night. I did the same, this time last year, and it worked fine. This time, however, NoChex kept failing the transaction (after NatWest SecureCard had authorised it), citing incorrect billing address details. After 5 unsuccessful attempts I gave up!

I immediately checked with NatWest and they show 5 consecutive approvals of £2. I submitted a support ticket with NoChex but no response from them so far (12 hours). The only difference between last year's successful transaction and this year's failures is that last year my debit card was Switch and now it's Maestro. All other details are the same.

I presume no payment has reached yourselves, in that I've had no e-mail confirmation from you.

How does this happen? BTW, should I avoid NoChex in future and use PayPal instead?

It's rare but this has happened to a few other subscribers. On every occasion the although payments appear to have been taken they do not processed and so you will not have lost out.

If for any reason they do all get taken, send an email to subscriptions AT pocketgpsworld.com and we can refund them quickly.

I'm not sure why this happens, we offer NoChex because many users have an aversion to PayPal and you do not need to have a NoChex account to make a payment but given your issues I'd consider using PayPal next time!
