I have just tried to update the speedcam files on my 910. All of the files have been correctly copied to the tomtom, but none of them appear as POI's - the POI list only shows the default items and I cannot enable any of the pocketgpsworld files.
I'm way short of the 100 POI limit and have no other POI's installed.
Any ideas whats wrong?? |

How many POIs have you got installed? And are you sure you have copied the files correctly? _________________ Darren Griffin |

I have nothing other than the standard, preinstalled POI's and as far as I can tell all of the files have been correctly copied to the map directory. |

Connect to PC
CLOSE TomTom Home if it starts up
Open Windows Explorer/My Computer
Find the 910 - it will be showing as a Removable Drive or Mass storage device
Browse to the map folder
Check for files with an .ov2 extension (if you can't see them, enable the correct view in Tools/Folder Options/View tab/UN-tick "Hide extensions for known file types)
Are the PocketGPS ones there? Whatever version of the download you opted for, they should all start with "pocketgps_uk_"
Are there less than 100 ov2 files in total? |

Yep, all the files are there and there are less than 100. I've been donig this every month since I got my first go 500 about 2 years ago and have never had this problem before.
I've tried restoring from a known good back-up, but the problem remains.
Just spent an hour mucking about with the 910. Fortuntaley I took a full disk image of it when I first got it out of the box. I've deleted and replaced from the image all of the files in the 910's root direcory and the entire western/eastern europe folder. That has cured the problem - after updating the sys files with tt home, all is now as it should be again.
Still don't understand what went wrong and why! |
