I am tempted to ask from RMA so I can send my 660 back to Garmin UK as I am sure the the aerial is faulty, it totally fails to pick up a gps signal even when left in the open for 10 hours.
What is the turnaround time and customer service like for Garmin with a problem such as this.
Thanks for your opinions

I've been quoted 5-14 business days. Could be three weeks! |

My Nuvi 610T lost its maps an hour after I'd bought it (after downloading the 'latest' software for it).
Garmin said it had to be replaced, it couldn't be repaired, and would return it in 4-10 (working) days. All I had to send back was the unit - none of the other stuff.
Two and a half weeks later they still hadn't got a replacement in stock, so I politely suggested that they return the original unit, unworking, so I could go back to the store, get my money back, and buy a different SatNav.
Next day, by special delivery, I received a complete Nuvi 660 kit.
One satisfied customer - the wait was worth it!! And I love the 660. Much much better than my old Quest - or the 610T for that matter!! _________________ Mike |

I phoned Garmin Tech about my lack GPS signal and the guy said I had to send back just the unit and a copy of the receipt.
I dug out the receipt from Halfords and I noticed it said that if there were any faults with the unit within 12 months all I had to do was to return it to the nearest Halfords.
I took it to Halfords who replaced the whole lot in 20 mins, no quibble.
That is far quicker than going out to buy a jiffy bag, take it to the post office for recorded delivery and then wait 5-7 working days (not counting bank holidays) and possibly getting the same unit back which could go wrong again later.
The new unit from Halfords has a new 12 month warranty on it. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 660 FM
