Sorry guys, I'm embarrassed to be asking this after years of using Tom Toms! Just got my 720 and copied over all of my own poi categories. Now trying to navigate to a POI it is only giving me choices for POI near you, in city or near home....but I don't want any of those, I just want to choose from my 'favourite' category.
If I choose one of the options e.g near you and then find my 'favourite' category it will only list the POIs within 30 miles...same for near home. How do I choose the POIs in my 'favoutire' category that are 100's of miles away?
I'm sure I'm missing something really simple here. I did have search on the forum but couldn't find anyone as clueless as me
I vaguley remember something about one of the firmwares not allowing more than 20 POI categories but I'm sure that was sorted...is there still a limit on navcore7?
Can't remember this problem with my ONE V1.
Thanks in advance. |

Those three categories only change the sorting order of the PoI categories. They are all there still. You may need to use the key pad to get to them at first. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Thanks sgould but even if I get to the keyboard it still doesn't show me any of my own POIs more than say 50 miles away. I have just tried to view the POIs through the edit POI route. On any of my own POI categories the 720 will not show me the POIs further than 50 miles away. This seems strange.
Ah! I think I see the problem. I've just spotted that it's not the mileage but more like that it won't show anymore than 4 pages (24) POIs!? This is the same for all of my own categories...even pgpsw speed cams and now I've just spotted it goes for the inbuilt POIs too!? So, as they are listed in distance order it has only been going up to about 50 miles on my machine.
As you say, if I get to the keyboard & type the name of the POI it will then sometimes show it, as this filters it down to less than 24. But to be honest I can't remember how I have named all of my POIs so would prefer to scoll down a list alot of the time.
Have TomTom always limited viewing POIs in a list to 24?..and I have been oblivious to it, or is this something new with navcore7? Can I change a setting to allow more than 24 POIs in alist?

Or are you talking about Recent Destinations, as that has a limit of 24. _________________ Richard

Yes, I just tried it and it is now 24 (and I KNOW it was 100 in v6 software).
I too much preferred the old v5 way of just giving you a long list to pick from.
Bit of a backward step. |

Cheers Andy, thought I had lost it for a minute . Worth bringing this to TomToms attention? Is there an official suggestion route or do we just email customer sevices? |

I wish I knew one.... (Both for moans like this and for suggestions).
Some of the Admin here seem to have a bit of a "way in" but for most of us it's just the customer services route, and I can't imagine it gets very far once it gets to them (They can't even find a Fax I've sent three times this week!).
I seem to remember there is a way via their website too (One of the common questions). I used that quite a lot in the early days, but never heard anything back. |
