Can anyone help with an extremely annoying problem with my tom tom GO. After connecting to my computer thro tom tom home it asks me to turn off the onscreen device before disconnecting, which I do. When I then try to turn my tom tom on it turns on and goes thro the start up with the yellow bar as if loading the sd card contents and then freezes on the black tom tom screen. I have checked the sd card on another device and it works perfectly I have also checked another sd card on this device and it works perfectly
Any clues ?????????????
Cheers

When you say you are turning off the device - which device are you actually touching? - you should be using the mouse on the PC to click the virtual on/ off button on the PC image that looks like your Go, the virtual on/ off button is depicted in the same position on the picture as it is in reality on your device - you should not be turning OFF the actuall GO hardware - Mike |

You should finally click My Device before disconnecting the GO. _________________ Richard

I just got my Tom Tom One today, and the freezing problem is why I looked up this forum. I took a "maiden voyage" to a neighboring town to pick up some dinner. It got me there just fine. I turned it off to go inside. When I came back out and turned it on, it went to the black screen with the single big hand covered with pictures, and stayed there. I could neither turn it on nor off after that. I brought it home and tried running it on the Home software, but the software wouldn't recognize it. I looked all over for a reset button, which my wife eventually found (next to the SD slot). I had to go through setup again, and I lost some preferences I had set, but fortunately the work I had done putting in some itineraries to distant places we travel to was not lost.
The only thing the least bit unusual in what I did might have been in the sequence of connecting and/or disconnecting the car power cable. Could this be what's triggering this behavior? Seems like a significant bug. _________________ --David Chandler
